About the role

  • Define AI roadmap, select tools, and set technical foundation for AI/ML efforts
  • Design and deploy the first set of AI-powered features, moving prototypes to production
  • Architect and implement robust LLM orchestration systems for reliable, scalable features
  • Integrate AI/ML models with the existing SaaS platform, leveraging RAG with proprietary data
  • Establish best practices for the full AI/ML lifecycle, from model evaluation to deployment and monitoring
  • Build standards, choose architecture, and establish patterns for future AI/ML team
  • Report directly to the VP of Engineering and collaborate within a 30-person engineering organization

Requirements

  • Proven experience building and shipping AI/ML features in a production environment
  • Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT, Claude, or open-source alternatives
  • Familiarity with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar tools
  • Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Chroma) and embedding techniques
  • Strong programming skills, particularly in Python
  • Experience working within an established codebase
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex technical concepts to all audiences
  • (Bonus) Experience with model fine-tuning and building complex, multi-step AI agents
  • Must have proper work authorization to work for any employer in Canada, without sponsorship from the company
