About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead metadata initiatives supporting regulatory obligations and coordinate delivery across a small Isle of Man-based team
  • Investigate data issues, identify root causes, dependencies, risks and practical routes to resolution
  • Build relationships across CIB, Group functions and technology teams to embed data standards, controls and consistent ways of working
  • Ensure critical data assets, controls and data quality requirements are understood, implemented, monitored and improved
  • Create communications, guidance and standards for delivery teams and senior leaders
  • Embed data management into change delivery
  • Shape data management strategy, governance and control effectiveness across the Crown Dependencies
  • Participate in the Group data practitioner community to build data culture, confidence and capability
  • Contribute to committee and board-level reporting, management information and governance materials
  • Champion improvements to data capability, business value, innovation and AI-enabled solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong experience in data management, data governance, metadata management or a related discipline, typically gained over 5+ years in a Business Data Office, Centre of Excellence or similar environment
  • Experience leading workstreams, initiatives or delivery tasks
  • Good understanding of metadata, data lineage, data quality, master/reference data and data products
  • Track record of delivering cross-functional data initiatives
  • Ability to analyse information, make sense of complexity and translate technical concepts into clear insight and practical recommendations
  • Experience implementing and monitoring data controls, supporting compliance requirements, responding to data incidents and resolving data integrity issues
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, including engagement with senior leaders
  • Working knowledge of Collibra, Ataccama, Dataplex, CI/CD practices and Google Cloud would be advantageous
  • Legal right to work and reside in Jersey, Guernsey or the Isle of Man
