About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the design, build and operation of cloud-based infrastructure across Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure
- Help deliver secure, scalable and resilient platforms supporting critical Lloyds Banking Group services
- Operate and enhance Kubernetes-based environments
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines
- Contribute to Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform
- Monitor platform performance and troubleshoot issues
- Support incident resolution activities
- Help implement security controls, access management and governance standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and platform enhancements
- Participate in agile ceremonies
- Develop expertise in modern cloud and DevOps practices
- Participate in an on-call rota to ensure cloud platform stability and reliability
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1–4 years’ experience in a DevOps, SRE, cloud or infrastructure engineering role
- Hands-on experience or strong working knowledge of Kubernetes and container technologies
- Experience using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions
- Ability to write or maintain scripts using Python, Bash or Go
- Experience or exposure to Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts and services on GCP and/or Azure
- Basic understanding of Linux systems, networking and security principles
- Strong collaboration skills and willingness to learn new tools and technologies
- Experience with Istio service mesh, including ingress/egress, mTLS and telemetry would be great
- Familiarity with GitOps approaches would be great
- Experience with Harness or similar enterprise CI/CD tools would be great
- Exposure to OPA Gatekeeper or policy-as-code tooling would be great
- Awareness of container security tools such as Aqua Security would be great
- Knowledge of shared platform services such as CoreDNS, cert-manager, Dynatrace, Infoblox and Cloudability would be great
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus or Dynatrace would be great
- Understanding of agile and DevOps ways of working would be great
