About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Liaise and collaborate with colleagues at different levels, up to executive level, to deliver an outstanding cloud platform
  • Contribute to or lead the analysis, build, and delivery of best-in-breed infrastructure systems
  • Use agile workflows and tooling such as JIRA
  • Work with Product Owners and Engineering colleagues to gather and interpret internal client customer needs
  • Feed into product roadmaps and vision
  • Apply secure-by-design principles and contribute to discussions on security, automation, and engineering approach
  • Understand risk processes and identify, articulate, and provide mitigation steps
  • Manage workload independently and identify and plan next tasks
  • Support the modernization of Lloyds Banking Group’s private cloud platform
  • Work hands-on with storage technologies and specialist team expertise

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience as a Storage Engineer with expertise in cloud environments
  • Expert knowledge of Storage/SAN technologies and services, including Hitachi, Dell, IBM, NetApp, Brocade, and Cisco switches
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and experience providing support with storage technologies and tools
  • Strong experience writing technical build documents
  • Solid knowledge of SAN, NAS, VSAN, iSCSI, and S3 technologies
  • Solid knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Solid knowledge of networks and firewalls
  • Solid knowledge of backup technologies
  • Solid knowledge of block, file, and object storage, ideally Dell Power series, NetApp NAS, and/or Dell ECS
  • Experience in Service Build and associated methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience with large-scale data migrations
  • Ability to work at Leeds or Manchester office sites at least two days per week, or 40% of working time
  • Full-time availability, 35 hours per week
