About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Shape how AI is used across the Credit Cards business to improve customer outcomes, support growth and simplify work for teams
  • Lead AI transformation across the Credit Cards lifecycle
  • Use AI tools hands-on to test ideas quickly and validate what works
  • Identify and prioritise high-impact AI use cases
  • Build and manage a clear AI use-case backlog
  • Lead rapid test-and-learn cycles and demonstrate measurable value
  • Collaborate with engineering, data science, product, platform and business teams
  • Translate opportunities into clear experiments and track success metrics
  • Support scaling of solutions with strong customer and commercial impact
  • Help colleagues understand practical AI capabilities and build confidence for adoption
  • Bring technical and business teams together
  • Identify external partnerships that can accelerate capability, delivery and innovation
  • Support capability growth through coaching and/or management of a small team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years’ experience delivering AI, machine learning, data science or advanced analytics solutions end-to-end, with clear evidence of business impact
  • 3+ years’ experience shaping or delivering AI strategy, ideally within consumer lending, credit cards, financial services or another customer-led, regulated environment
  • Hands-on experience with modern AI tools and techniques, including generative AI, agentic AI, machine learning or applied AI experimentation
  • Strong experience with cloud-based data and AI platforms, ideally including GCP, BigQuery, MLOps, CI/CD pipelines or Git
  • Proven ability to turn ambiguous opportunities into prioritised backlogs, experiments, deliverables and measurable outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to simplify technical topics for non-technical audiences and influence business, data, engineering and platform teams
  • Experience with internal data ecosystems, data products or large-scale customer data platforms would be beneficial
  • Experience with advanced GenAI use cases such as RAG, copilots, agentic workflows, NLP, document processing or conversational AI would be beneficial
  • Exposure to real-time decisioning, streaming architectures, model governance or regulatory environments would be beneficial
  • Experience leading small teams, mentoring others or managing cross-functional workstreams would be beneficial
  • Relevant transferable experience is accepted
