About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advising on a wide variety of Consumer Relationships and UKPB initiatives, including new and existing products and services
  • Supporting transformation projects, assisting in the delivery of changes to products and services
  • Helping to shape and influence strategy in relation to relevant areas of legal, regulatory and industry change
  • Supporting new partnerships with third parties that meet our customers’ needs beyond banking
  • Offering insightful, high-quality legal expertise and commercial advice to colleagues and facilitating the delivery of excellent outcomes for customers and the Group
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with external lawyers and internal partners across Legal & Secretariat and the business
  • Identifying knowledge gaps and delivering and organizing training to team and business partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • UK qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience
  • Relevant experience in financial services, ideally within areas relevant to private banking
  • Strong understanding of Payment Services Regulations and Consumer Duty
  • Experience in advising on matters under the consumer credit regime
  • Knowledge of BCOBS, KYL/AML and ringfencing
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new legal and technological developments
  • Proven track record of delivering legal advice in complex, cross-functional environments
  • Experience collaborating with clients, business partners and internal teams to deliver solutions in a regulated environment
  • A genuine curiosity about developing others and being part of a collaborative team
  • Strong influencing and communication skills ideally with experience engaging regulators and industry bodies.
