About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a self-organised engineering team to design and develop software features or services
  • Be a technical leader within your feature team
  • You’ll lead and inspire teams to explore, adopt and responsibly integrate AI-driven solutions
  • Collaborate with product and engineering leads to realise the Lab’s vision
  • Be curious about technology and look to foster a culture of innovation.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A capable technical leader, who takes ownership of design and delivery
  • Working in the public cloud domain at scale, primarily with GCP.
  • Strong programming skills with a good working knowledge of Java, Spring Boot/Quarkus & REST APIs, hosting microservices in a container orchestration platform such as Kubernetes.
  • Diverse technical experience and a proven ability to deliver high quality applications at scale.
  • Strong knowledge of security patterns and best practice advantageous.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within engineering, with a track record of mentoring and developing talent.
  • Any experience of mobile native development would be beneficial
