About the role
- Manage Check Point firewalls, delivering change as well as providing technical support and guidance to the business across Network Services
- Support the Firewall Services Team by maintaining and improving automation scripts (primarily in Python)
- Be responsible for the development and implementation of Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform and Ansible
- Serve as a domain guide for scripting and automation, offering training and mentorship to team members
- Represent the team in Network Services LAB collaboration meetings, contributing to automation strategy and planning
- Develop and maintain user documentation and team roadmaps for automation initiatives
- Promote DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline integration
- Stay informed of new technologies and industry trends, sharing knowledge within the team
Requirements
- CCSE/CCSA certified or equivalent hands-on experience working with Check Point firewalls
- Solid understanding of Cisco networking technologies, including Cisco ACI
- Proficient in Python; experience with Bash or Robot Framework is a plus
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible
- Experience working in large enterprise environments under change control
- Familiarity with Jira and Agile methodologies
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or team members
- Knowledge of regulated environments (e.g., Financial Services) is advantageous
