About the role
- Perform structural calculations and design for building components including superstructures, foundations, and floor systems.
- Develop and assist in the preparation of construction documents for vertical structures.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure accuracy and coordination across drawings and documentation.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate with clients under the guidance of a supervisor.
- Maintain and expand technical knowledge through continuing education, industry seminars, and in-house training programs.
- Evaluate design processes and propose improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Maintain composure and problem-solving capability in high-pressure situations.
- Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Conduct occasional site visits to monitor construction progress and document observations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols during site visits.
- Open to career growth opportunities, including potential transition into a Project Manager role.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Civil or Architectural engineering with Structural emphasis required
- Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience with a focus on reinforced concrete and/or steel design
- Proficient in producing construction documents, reports, and related technical documentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Strong background in vertical construction projects including commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings; tilt-up experience
- Prior experience with cast-in-place concrete and mid-rise steel structures
- Proficiency with RAM Structural Systems, Enercalc, and Revit.
