About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as the primary support and day-to-day client contact for client service teams and operations
  • Build and maintain direct working relationships with clients and carriers
  • Prioritize and complete work according to client needs, customs requirements, and Livingston standards
  • Maintain client tariff databases, system maintenance files, vendors, and keywords
  • Verify documentation for release conditions, compliance, and rating compliance
  • Create, maintain, and follow client SOPs and exceptions to standard procedures
  • Ensure accurate and timely release and rating of shipments across all transportation modes
  • Audit work completed by Release Pool or the NSC in Air/Sea locations
  • Support, guide, and mentor Release Operations members in non-Air/Sea locations
  • Escalate unresolved items and recommend corrective actions
  • Create customs entries and interpret customs documentation for high- and low-value shipments
  • Enter shipment information for EDI release, rating, and billing
  • Contact clients and carriers to obtain missing documentation, information, or instructions
  • Work with Customs and PGAs as necessary
  • Conduct checks on tariff and valuation application and client/importer information
  • Conduct documented internal audits
  • Assist with compiling and reporting Client Service Team performance statistics
  • Participate in team operations, prioritization, scheduling, meetings, problem-solving, and special projects
  • Coordinate and implement electronic data relationships to improve one-step processing
  • Keep abreast of new system developments
  • Perform other duties assigned by management and follow established policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3 years of related experience
  • High School/GED or equivalent required
  • Working toward or successful completion of the Certified Customs Specialists (CCS) designation with CSCB or NCBFAA, if not already obtained
  • Successful completion of the CCS examination is mandatory for further advancement
  • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills
  • Client-service-oriented interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle large volumes and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Attention to detail, organization, completeness, and accuracy
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to make decisions and recommendations within authorized limitations
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Ability to present a professional image
  • Knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Ability to use a personal computer and common business machines/software
