Own the sustainable delivery and technical excellence of a cross‑functional product squad.
Partner with the Product Manager to turn strategy into predictable outcomes for customers and the business.
Drive planning, sequencing, and execution for the squad; make trade‑offs explicit and time‑box discovery/validation.
Remove blockers fast; coordinate dependencies across teams; hold crisp, data‑driven status updates.
Establish and evolve pragmatic agile practices to maintain sustainable pace.
Set the engineering bar (architecture, code health, testing, observability, security); perform code and design reviews; pair and contribute code when it materially de‑risks or accelerates.
Guide architectural decisions; keep tech debt visible and deliberately managed with the PM.
Co‑own squad strategy with the PM: clarify problem framing, success metrics, and prioritisation; balance discovery vs. delivery; instrument features and ensure learnings flow back into roadmap decisions.
Coach and grow engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, and growth plans; run fair, timely performance reviews; address under‑performance and run PIPs when needed.
Hire bar‑raising talent; partner with recruiting; design and run structured interviews; ensure excellent onboarding.
Foster an inclusive, psychologically safe environment; promote knowledge sharing and mentorship.
Track and publish team metrics (delivery, quality, flow, impact) and use them for continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards relevant to the squad’s domain.
