About the role

  • Do you love designing systems that feel effortless, even when what’s under the hood is complex? Are you excited by the challenge of making AI-powered automation intuitive and approachable for users at scale?
  • We’re looking for a Product Designer to join the Workflows & Visual Builders team, where we design the tools that let businesses automate tasks, connect data, and build smarter processes — all without writing a line of code.
  • Our mission: to invent a new way of building workflows that combines visual building blocks with AI assistance. You’ll help shape how thousands of businesses design automations, integrate agents, and make their everyday work easier.
  • About the team: We’re a tight, cross-functional group (frontend, backend, QA, design) working on one of the most experimental and high-potential areas at Text. Today, our visual builder is live in beta with thousands of licenses, but we’re already moving fast toward its next evolution: - Rethinking the builder UX from scratch. - Seamlessly combining AI agents, prompts, and workflow triggers into one experience. - Exploring how new standards like MCP (Model Context Protocol) open doors for integrating LLMs and products.
  • We’re searching for a hands-on, product-minded designer who thrives on tough design challenges and loves pushing boundaries.
  • This isn’t a maintenance role. You’ll work on greenfield product design challenges, shaping entirely new concepts while iterating quickly based on user and business feedback.

Requirements

  • Redesigning the builder experience from the ground up — creating a workflow system that’s intuitive, powerful, and scalable.
  • Balancing visual simplicity with functional depth to ensure non-technical users can build automations with confidence.
  • Exploring AI-powered experiences: prompt-based workflow creation, agent-triggered flows, and co-pilot-style support.
  • Taking ownership of the entire design process — discovery, ideation, prototyping, testing, iteration, and delivery.
  • Collaborating with engineers, product leaders, and stakeholders to shape solutions from concept to release.
  • Validating ideas through user research, experiments, and data analysis — iterating based on real impact, not guesswork.
  • Contributing to the broader design culture at Text by sharing insights, giving feedback, and raising the quality bar.
  • Inventive problem-solver: You thrive when faced with “unsolved” design problems (like building a workflow experience no one has cracked yet).
  • Product thinker: You design with both users and business impact in mind. You’re curious about outcomes, not just outputs.
  • AI-curious: You’re excited by the opportunities of AI in product design and keep an eye on emerging trends.
  • Proactive collaborator: You bring ideas to the table, not just polish what’s given to you.
  • User-centered: You enjoy talking to customers, testing ideas with them, and iterating based on feedback.
  • Detail-driven: You care about usability, visual polish, and documentation — because design is more than screens.
  • 4 or more years of product design experience, ideally in SaaS or complex tool/product environments.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating UX/UI thinking, interaction design, and problem-solving on complex systems.
  • Fluency in Figma and other design/research tools (e.g. Hotjar, Amplitude).
  • Experience leading end-to-end product design processes.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting ideas, facilitating discussions, and aligning cross-team decisions.
  • Experience with automation platforms (Zapier, Integromat, Airtable, etc.) or other “builder” tools.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered experiences or LLM-driven interfaces.
  • Interest in emerging standards like MCP.
  • Experience in user research and experimentation (A/B testing, usability studies).
