About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, ensuring assigned deadlines are met.
- Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Maintain the general ledger and supporting balance sheet reconciliations for multiple venues.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Analyze financial results and explain significant variances.
- Prepare and reconcile event profit and loss (P&L) reports following each event, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper supporting documentation in partnership with operations.
- Reconcile event financial results and investigate variances between event settlements and supporting documentation.
- Partner with the operations team to ensure timely processing of artist settlement payments.
- Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and cash activity to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare information and supporting schedules for tax reporting processes.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and ensuring timely responses.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes through automation, standardization, and continuous process improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and support operational initiatives.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting, financial analysis, and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes
- Experience preparing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and performing account reconciliations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, and data analysis
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Experience with Oracle, Oracle Fusion, or similar ERP systems
- Experience supporting accounting for multiple entities, locations, or business units preferred
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
