About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct legal research and monitor changes in U.S. laws and policies, analyze updates, and communicate applicability firmwide.
- Provide legal support for complex cases, including escalation reviews, risk management, and policy interpretation.
- Support the Legal Leadership Team in developing and implementing firmwide legal strategy and compliance initiatives.
- Draft, review, and update legal documents and internal firm policy documents.
- Draft, review, and conduct training sessions for internal teams.
- Support the Legal Department as subject-matter experts in immigration law to ensure legal consistency, compliance, and quality control.
- Perform additional duties as determined by the Director Attorney.
Requirements
What you’ll need- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and current bar membership in good standing.
- 5+ years of experience as an immigration attorney.
- 3+ years of removal defense experience, including experience preparing for and representing clients in Master Calendar and Individual Calendar Hearings.
- Preferred experience with humanitarian and family-based immigration, and consular processing (e.g., VAWA; T visas; U visas; family-based petitions; nonimmigrant and immigrant visas; naturalization; waivers; RFE/NOID/NOIR responses; appeals; and motions before USCIS and immigration court).
- Strong command of U.S. immigration law and related federal regulations.
- Excellent analytical, legal writing, and research skills.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Sound judgment and ethical decision-making in client and firm matters.
- Demonstrated commitment to client advocacy, firm integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred, with Spanish fluency strongly preferred; additional language skills are a plus.
