Paralegal

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review intake, interview, and initial research notes to develop legal strategies for attorney review.
- Review and adjust case flow in response to immigration judges’ orders.
- Conduct thorough reviews of full court case files prior to preparing clients for court appearances, ensuring they understand their case and what to expect.
- Respond to client concerns and case escalations by identifying solutions or next steps.
- Clearly and respectfully communicate legal information to clients based on attorney guidance.
- Assist in developing and refining internal workflows, scripts, and training materials to improve consistency and efficiency across the Court team.
- Partner with other operations teams to provide strategic insight and additional thoughts on the case process.
- Upon request and where appropriate, help to handle overflow attorney tasks.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3 or more years of immigration experience, including I-589 and 42-B applications.
- Excellent English and Spanish, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of court filing experience, with a minimum of 3 years in immigration court filings.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software including Dropbox, SharePoint or CRM.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to solve problems independently or with the support of leadership.
- Ability to work as a team in a collaborative manner.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
