About the role
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Provide technical guidance for the design, architecture, and implementation of complex software systems
- Make high-level design decisions and provide guidance on coding practices and development methodologies
- Test and debug code to ensure functionality and quality
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables
- Provide guidance to the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Ensure adherence to best practices and standards
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all development work, including technical specifications, user guides, and process flows
- Execute bug fixes
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with the team
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, implementing solutions to improve performance, scalability, and reliability
- Provide meaningful feedback and project updates to ensure projects stay on track and meet customer needs
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance our products
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years development experience in the WordPress space
- Transparent and reliable, owns both successes and failures
- Strong experience with MySQL
- Full understanding of the product development life cycle and project methodologies (agile/scrum)
- Strong experience crafting modern PHP and working knowledge of current frameworks
- Proficient in React.js and its core principles
- Advanced HTML & CSS knowledge
- Experience with developing blocks for the Block Editor
- Full understanding of continuous integration and automated deployment pipelines
- Highly skilled at building accessible, performant sites
- Comfortable working in a Linux environment
- A passion for improving software/systems
- Ability to work remotely with little-to-no oversight.
