About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Guide a team of design personnel to efficiently meet overall project objectives and reviews the work of others to ensure standards of quality are met
  • Recommend work methods, techniques, and procedures and take part in work scheduling, setting priorities, and completion dates
  • Provide metrics for recurring reports
  • Monitor and track progress of design projects and communicate status to partners
  • Assist Design Leaders, Supervisors, Project Managers and Engineers with scope, schedule and budget definition for new projects requiring design and drafting activities
  • Act as a primary contact between internal and external business partners to establish upfront expectations, assignment criteria, progress reporting, and general communication

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma/GED and Technical School with CADD Certificate or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of drafting experience with 5 years focused on independent design assignments
  • 5 years in roles that required leading multiple project efforts with less experienced designers and drafters in the energy, oil & gas, or utilities industry
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and 15 years of drafting experience with 10 years focused on independent design assignments
  • Demonstrates outstanding organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Skyline and PODS experience preferred
