About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Guide a team of design personnel to efficiently meet overall project objectives and reviews the work of others to ensure standards of quality are met
- Recommend work methods, techniques, and procedures and take part in work scheduling, setting priorities, and completion dates
- Provide metrics for recurring reports
- Monitor and track progress of design projects and communicate status to partners
- Assist Design Leaders, Supervisors, Project Managers and Engineers with scope, schedule and budget definition for new projects requiring design and drafting activities
- Act as a primary contact between internal and external business partners to establish upfront expectations, assignment criteria, progress reporting, and general communication
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma/GED and Technical School with CADD Certificate or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 10 years of drafting experience with 5 years focused on independent design assignments
- 5 years in roles that required leading multiple project efforts with less experienced designers and drafters in the energy, oil & gas, or utilities industry
- Bachelor's degree preferred and 15 years of drafting experience with 10 years focused on independent design assignments
- Demonstrates outstanding organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
- Skyline and PODS experience preferred
