Operations Technician – Mechanical

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join a motivated team responsible for maintaining Williams’ largest horsepower and power distribution installations.
- Work with gas turbines and high-speed reciprocating engines, mastering the mechanics behind high-performance energy systems.
- Hands-on work with complex mechanical equipment, including medium voltage generators and power distribution.
- Integrate mechanical skills with cutting-edge technology in environmental controls and distributed control systems.
- Actively support construction initiatives, diagnose and repair equipment, and solve technical challenges.
- Keep equipment running safely and smoothly by performing a range of hands-on tasks, from reading drawings to inspecting gear.
- Collaborate with teammates to analyze data and find solutions to technical or operational challenges.
- Follow company policies and use the right procedures to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Maintain accurate records of process operations, completing reports and logs, and assisting with preventive maintenance.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and travel between locations
- Ability to work in extreme conditions and elevated areas with PPE
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safety and operational excellence
- 6+ months of mechanical or technical experience, or internship with Associate degree (for Technician I)
- 2+ years of related experience, preferably in oil & gas (for Technician II)
- 3+ years of technician experience, preferably in oil & gas (for Technician III)
- 6+ years of experience with similar equipment or facilities; Associate degree preferred (for Technician Sr)
