About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performs assigned month-end activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, management reporting, SEC reporting and variance analysis
- Prepares, maintains and develops schedules, reports, and analyses for internal/external customers with guidance only in sophisticated situations
- Provides and reviews requested documentation and clear explanations for both internal and external audit processes
- Leads complex projects to achieve landmarks and objectives; looks for innovative solutions and develops strategy for project execution and leads resource requirements
- Processes significant amounts of data and transactions including critical and confidential aspects of accounting
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a strong accounting focus
- Senior Analyst: Minimum six (6) years of accounting experience in the energy industry
- Consultant: Minimum eight (8) years of accounting experience in the energy industry
- Preferred: CPA and/or experience with data analytics or accounting automation
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to understand and work with sophisticated processes and accounting systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial skills
- Previous experience collaborating with senior leadership and reporting financial analysis
- Preferred: Ability to research, apply and consult on appropriate US GAAP (Generally accepted accounting principles)
