About the role
- Build new game templates for Lingokids, as well as libraries and systems to support and improve existing and future games.
- Understand the goals & pillars for each game, and work with the designers and artists to build the most polished and intuitive experience.
- Contribute to technical planning and backlog estimation, helping balance the priorities between current developments and future needs.
- Develop clean and effective code that is easy to test, extend and adapt.
- Contribute to game template best practices for internal architecture, asset structure and ease of automation.
- Help Level Designers and other engineers to understand and improve existing systems and templates.
- Work with your Producer to estimate schedules and manage efficient and accurate planning.
- Perform and receive code reviews with your fellow engineers and technical designers.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in Unity 3D game engineering, with more than 2 years developing multiple games with Unity and other technologies.
- Curiosity and desire to learn and expand your knowledge in software engineering and game creation.
- Great initiative, attention to detail, and a self-driven yet collaborative attitude that helps move projects and teams forward.
- Ability to translate game designs into clean and effective software architecture, systems, data structures and algorithms.
- Excellent communication abilities, to put forward and discuss clear technical designs, plans and requirements in English.
- A good understanding of game creation processes, from concept to polishing and delivery.
- A good understanding of the various roles and dynamics involved in game creation: design, art, animation, audio, scene and level design, production, QA.
- Experience with version control systems (we use Git and Github).
