About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs on electric material handling trucks (Powered Industrial Trucks - PIT)
  • Diagnose and repair failures in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, steering, braking and control systems
  • Repair motors, hydraulic components, masts, lift chains, wheels, tires, electrical systems, sensors, operator controls, forks and safety devices
  • Inspect, maintain and repair lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries, chargers and related components
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and return equipment to service safely and efficiently
  • Accurately document inspections, repairs, hours worked and parts used in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Comply with all company safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience maintaining electric material handling trucks (forklifts) or comparable industrial equipment
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Ability to interpret maintenance manuals and technical documentation
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to manage workload effectively
  • Basic computer skills and ability to effectively use a CMMS
  • Valid Quebec Class 5 driver's license
