LINDERA

Finance Manager, Part-time, 25h/week

LINDERA

Finance Manager establishing finance operations for LINDERA's German and US entities. Working closely with CEO and CTO to ensure data integrity and investor readiness.

Posted 7/5/2026part-timeBerlin • 🇩🇪 GermanyMid-LevelSenior💰 €55,000 - €75,000 per yearWebsite

About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build out finance function (DE + US): establish Chart of Accounts, reporting stack and closing processes for both entities.
  • US setup using Mercury, QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Carta and Fathom/Mosaic.
  • DE setup using DATEV, in coordination with our tax advisor.
  • Investor reporting: monthly investor update and quarterly board package (P&L, cash flow, KPI scorecard, variance analysis) — at the level institutional investors expect.
  • Grants & funding: manage ongoing and new funding with German authorities (BMWK, BAFA, EU programs) and US agencies (e.g., Department of Commerce, NIH mechanisms).
  • Drawdowns, usage documentation, audit trail.
  • AI & automation strategy: implement variance analysis, reporting drafts and anomaly detection using Claude/GPT workflows.
  • Operational accounting: DATEV bookkeeping, EBICS banking, mail handling, receipts, payment runs, invoicing in CRM.
  • Transfer pricing & compliance: arm’s-length documentation for the GmbH–US license agreement (IRS Section 482 / OECD), prepare to due-diligence depth.
  • Cash & forecast: rolling 6-month planning, runway monitoring, three scenarios (Base / Up / Down).

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Foundation: audit, tax or transaction background at a Big Four firm (EY, PwC, KPMG, Deloitte) at Senior/Manager level — or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Dual standards: confident with HGB, and basic knowledge of US GAAP — or willingness to build this quickly.
  • Understanding of corporate intercompany relationships GmbH ↔ US Corp.
  • Tools: you are proficient with DATEV. Experience with QuickBooks Online, Mercury, Ramp or similar US stacks is a plus, not required.
  • Languages: fluent in German and English.
  • AI mindset: you actively use AI, not reject it. You understand where automation creates value and where humans retain responsibility.
  • Operational and strategic: you enjoy building structures but aren’t too proud to empty the office mailbox.
  • Discretion: confidential data — cap table, salaries, investor communications — are safe with you.

Benefits

Comp & perks
  • Substance over status: a senior role with a build-out character — German bookkeeping meets US scaling setup.
  • Rarely will you find such a demanding position at this number of hours.
  • True part-time: 25 hours means 25 hours.
  • We design the role to actually work alongside family life.
  • Hybrid Berlin: 1–2 days in the office (Berlin), rest remote.
  • Core-time flexible.
