About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Establish complex claims payments in the system
  • Document claims accurately and comprehensively
  • Update and maintain payment tracking systems with key dates and outcomes
  • Partner with internal and external areas to achieve financial accuracy and stability for claimants
  • Communicate by email and phone with employers, claims specialists, and claimants to obtain financial data and other information
  • Gather and review information from claim case managers, claimants, vendors, and customer contacts
  • Work independently under established procedures and guidelines while meeting service-level agreements and performance guarantees
  • Make routine and non-routine decisions within established procedures and guidelines
  • Apply expanding role knowledge to increasingly complex situations
  • Establish follow-up tasks for claims examiners requiring payment adjustments or oversight
  • Identify and act on claims with potential benefit offsets based on other income sources
  • Adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley financial controls, corporate compliance, and GAAP

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2–3 years of progressive experience in a financial services environment, such as payroll services, directly aligned with the role's responsibilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain strict attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and adapt as needed
  • High comfort level working in Excel documents and with mathematical concepts including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, averages, and variances
  • Comfortable articulating and altering provisions and working with contract language
