About the role

  • About Lincoln Avenue Communities—a leading, mission-driven real estate private equity firm dedicated to strengthening communities through the development and preservation of affordable housing. Position supports complex financial reporting and equity allocations; streamlines automation and accuracy across financial workflows. Reports to Senior Director of Finance; based in downtown Santa Monica; in-office 3 days per week requirement. Equity allocations & waterfalls: maintain/update waterfalls; calculate/review distributions; support quarterly valuation reporting. Automation & process improvement: lead finance side of implementing equity management software; partner with data engineer for automation projects; identify efficiency opportunities. Support finance leadership on ad-hoc special projects.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in working with financial models, cash flow files, and journal entries. Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Yardi preferred) and comfort troubleshooting data integrity issues. A collaborative mindset with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Curiosity and initiative to identify process improvements and implement automation solutions. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 5-8 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, or corporate finance. Public accounting, real estate, or investment management industry experience a plus, with direct experience working on equity waterfalls or allocations in partnership structures strongly preferred. CPA, CFA, or progress toward similar credentials preferred but not required. Advanced Excel skills required; exposure to data-driven process improvement a plus.
