About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own end-to-end technical architecture across Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement and Salesforce Core
  • Define customer, order, service, loyalty, consent, and marketing data flows across Salesforce, MuleSoft, commerce, point-of-sale, Snowflake, and other enterprise systems
  • Maintain architecture diagrams, system and data flows, integration inventories, technical standards, support procedures, and solution documentation
  • Identify technical debt, platform risks, security concerns, and opportunities to improve scalability, resilience, and supportability
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership for Marketing Cloud, including Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, Email Studio, Mobile Studio, SMS, data extensions, SQL, segmentation, and communications
  • Design and support Marketing Cloud Connect, APIs, SFTP and file transfers, imports and exports, and subscriber-key strategies
  • Guide consent, subscription, preference-management, retention, archival, and contact-count practices
  • Provide architecture and hands-on support for Salesforce Core CRM, Service Cloud, case management, Omni-Channel, messaging, chat, SMS, Knowledge, Flow, Apex, Lightning components, APIs, and Agentforce
  • Provide technical leadership for Loyalty Management programs, memberships, tiers, currencies, points, rewards, promotions, vouchers, coupons, offers, and transaction journals
  • Support Agentforce, Agentforce Voice, Salesforce Voice, telephony integrations, contact-center routing, voice transcription, call records, agent assistance, knowledge recommendations, and AI-supported interactions
  • Own and support Salesforce integrations using MuleSoft, REST and SOAP APIs, platform events, scheduled and batch jobs, SFTP, and middleware
  • Lead technical response to production integration failures; review logs, errors, automations, API activity, and data-processing results
  • Define monitoring, alerting, error-handling, and recovery standards and coordinate issue resolution with internal teams and outside partners
  • Participate in production-support and escalation rotation, break-fix work, release reviews, security and API updates, and platform improvements
  • Configure and prototype solutions; build or modify Flows, automations, data mappings, SQL queries, and integrations
  • Review Apex, Lightning components, Marketing Cloud scripts, APIs, vendor code, and configurations
  • Create proofs of concept and support testing, release planning, deployment, and post-production validation
  • Serve as in-house Salesforce subject matter expert; guide and mentor administrators, developers, analysts, product owners, and technology partners
  • Establish development, configuration, integration, security, and documentation standards and conduct architecture, design, and code reviews
  • Build internal knowledge to reduce dependence on outside consulting partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A four-year college degree is required, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Eight or more years of Salesforce platform experience, including at least two years as a Salesforce Architect, Technical Lead, or equivalent senior technical role
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement and Salesforce Core, including strong Service Cloud and customer-service process experience
  • Experience designing, building, and supporting enterprise Salesforce integrations, including MuleSoft or a comparable enterprise integration platform
  • Hands-on experience with Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, Data Extensions, SQL, Marketing Cloud APIs, and marketing data and automation troubleshooting
  • Experience with Salesforce data models, Flow, Apex, APIs, security, permissioning, sharing, and platform configuration
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot production issues across multiple Salesforce products and external systems
  • Strong understanding of REST and SOAP APIs, event-driven integrations, batch processing, middleware, and file-based integrations
  • Experience with source control, release management, testing, deployment, and post-production validation practices for Salesforce
  • Ability to balance long-term architectural direction with immediate production-support and break-fix needs
  • Ability to learn complex existing environments, work through incomplete documentation, and independently determine configurations, integrations, and data flows
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with business partners, developers, administrators, vendors, and technology leadership
  • Preferred experience with multiple Salesforce implementation partners or system integrators; retail, consumer products, ecommerce, or loyalty-driven businesses; Agentforce, Salesforce Voice, Data Cloud/Data 360, Loyalty Management, customer engagement channels, and mentoring
  • Preferred Salesforce certifications, including Application Architect, System Architect, Platform Integration Architect, Service Cloud Consultant, Marketing Cloud Engagement Consultant or Developer; Technical Architect credential is valuable but not required
