About the role

  • Code and deliver new features, perform code reviews, fix bugs, participate in pair programming and incident response
  • Own and be accountable for features and high-leverage coding projects
  • Structure projects into small, actionable tasks to deliver value quickly
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers and designers to plan work
  • Share knowledge: chapter reviews, demos, mentoring fellow engineers
  • Work on common services, shared libraries, introduce or upgrade tooling and documentation, and evolve best practices and processes
  • Build on a modern stack (web apps in Angular & React, GraphQL/REST APIs to Go services, databases, Kafka, Docker, AWS) and support iterative continuous delivery

Requirements

  • Senior level of engineering experience including both successes and failures (“scars”)
  • Deep knowledge in at least one of: Golang, Java, PHP, C#, C++, Ruby, Python, Elixir
  • Experience with React, Vue, Angular or other JavaScript frontend framework
  • Understanding of authentication, web security, models and databases, and how frontends consume APIs
  • Willingness to mentor and train other Engineers in the team
  • Willingness to learn Golang and React (not required to be expert)
  • Disclosure of any criminal convictions and consent to criminal record checks as part of hiring process
