About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure the efficient maintenance of solar plants, performing both preventative and corrective tasks
- Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures, actively participating in risk assessments
- Perform maintenance on electrical components, inverters, modules, CCTV/security systems, monitoring systems, and structures
- Provide detailed reports according to Lightsource BP standards, which can be prepared remotely
- Deliver electrical maintenance services across a specified region, with occasional travel to other regions for additional support
- Assist in compiling insurance and warranty claims
- Take full ownership of assigned sites
- Manage relationships with local subcontractors
Requirements
What you’ll need- Electrically trained with qualifications such as BS7671 and Level 3 Electrical NVQ or equivalent (e.g., completed apprenticeship, IET)
- Ability to safely pass LV1 assessment
- Experience as an Electricians Mate, industrial PV installation maintenance, inverter maintenance, and HV switching (desirable)
- Clean, full driving licence
- Experience working at heights (advantageous)
- Capable of working remotely without close supervision
- HSE awareness
- Proactive, autonomous, and initiative-driven
- Problem-solving attitude and technical curiosity
- Positive, adaptable, and willing to learn
- Passionate about renewables (highly desirable)
- Comfortable working outdoors
