About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define a clear, ambitious AI strategy: clarify priorities, build a roadmap, and make trade-offs between in-house development, partnerships and off-the-shelf solutions
- Turn technically complex topics related to medical documents and clinical data into useful products
- Orchestrate priorities across a highly cross-functional team working on multiple products
- Grow the team and its technical leads through clear goals, regular feedback and empowered decision-making
- Challenge established approaches, launch proofs of concept, evolve practices and evaluate the adoption of new technologies
- Represent Lifen’s AI vision to Product, Tech, executive leadership, customers, partners and the broader ecosystem
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience defining and mobilizing an AI or machine learning strategy in a technology company, scale-up or similar environment
- At least two years of direct management experience of a Data, AI, Machine Learning or Engineering team
- Experience in natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), information extraction or structuring homogeneous datasets
- Solid technical credibility with machine learning engineers
- Ability to connect technology choices to user needs, product outcomes and business results
- Ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable with ambiguity, curious and able to challenge established ways of working
- Experience in healthcare, clinical data, medtech, biotech or other regulated industries (nice-to-have)
- Collaboration with applied research teams, publications, conference presentations or public speaking on AI topics (nice-to-have)
- Experience in organizations handling sensitive data and embedding data sovereignty, privacy and compliance into technical decisions (nice-to-have)
