About the role
- Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll cycles for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Review and validate employee hours, pay rates, overtime, and deductions.
- Ensure all payroll tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and contributions are correct.
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
- Serve as the first point of contact for payroll inquiries and change requests.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and federal labor laws affecting payroll processing.
- Assisted in payroll audits and ensured adherence to healthcare industry compliance standards.
- Generate and submit quarterly, annual (W-2), and ad hoc reports as required.
- Assist with payroll-related projects and process improvements.
Requirements
- 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in Home Health and Hospice
- Proficiency in Paylocity, Wellsky, Carevoyant, Careficient, or similar payroll systems
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals & payroll compliance
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal & Written)
- High Integrity, attention to detail, and ethical standards
- Prolonged sitting is required in an office environment.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and courteously.
- It requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and agency needs.
- Work requires considerable sitting and close-up vision work.
- Continually communicating with staff and other health care professionals utilizing email and telephone systems.
