About the role
- Provide therapeutic interventions and activities in accordance with the participants plan of care.
- Recommend adaptive and durable medical equipment to promote independence and safety.
- Document treatments and progress accurately in electronic medical records.
- Provide training and guidance to family members, caregivers, and staff.
- Assist in restorative and wellness programs for participants.
- Deliver care in multiple settings, including the center, participants homes, skilled nursing facilities, or hospitals.
- Communicate participant progress and changes to the care team.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with participants, families, and facility staff.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for all treatments and documentation.
- Participate in team discussions and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Active licensure to practice in the state where the COTA resides, or practices required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience working with the frail and elderly population is strongly preferred, but a minimum of 1 year is required.
- Experience with adaptive equipment and therapeutic interventions a plus.
- Requires valid State drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Successful completion of background check, physical, drug screening, TB Screening
