Life Cycle Costing Engineer – Heavy Equipment

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- evaluate, model, and influence the total cost of ownership (TCO) of mining truck platforms throughout their full life cycle
- design, update, and implement Life Cycle Cost (LCC) models for off-highway mining trucks
- evaluate total cost of ownership (TCO), covering capital investment, maintenance labor, parts usage, equipment downtime, rebuild programs, and end-of-life factors
- partner with engineering design teams to evaluate design alternatives using life cycle cost as a decision-making metric
- analyze field data, warranty data, and service histories to identify major life cycle cost drivers and improvement opportunities
- support engineering design reviews, DFMEA activities, and product development gates by providing life cycle cost performance benchmarks
- collaborate with maintenance and service teams to validate labor times, maintenance intervals, tooling requirements, and rebuild strategies
- prepare clear, data-driven reports and presentations that communicate life cycle cost insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from a four-year college or university
- prior work experience in life cycle costing, reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or cost analysis within a heavy equipment or mining environment
- ability to obtain and maintain Local Mine induction and access
- ability to obtain and maintain Local Mine HSE certification
- ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport and driver’s license
- travel to customer and supplier sites domestically and internationally for 1-4 weeks in duration
