Deputy Manager – Senior Engineer, Application Engineering
Liebherr GroupDeputy Manager/Senior Engineer managing engineering tasks for OEM customers, focusing on design, quality, and production processes in wind energy sector.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as the primary technical interface for major OEM customers (Enercon, Nordex, GE Vernova, Vestas, SGRE).
- Manage and resolve customer inquiries related to design, quality, and delivery.
- Review, negotiate, and communicate engineering and QA specifications internally.
- Build business cases including cost, price, profitability, packaging, logistics, and warranty.
- Provide technical input to Sales Account Managers.
- Coordinate and participate in customer audits, first article inspections, and technical visits.
- Identify suitable and alternative drive components using OEM references, competitor data, or customer inputs.
- Advise customers on transport protection, storage conditions, installation parameters, lubrication, and maintenance intervals.
- Clarify the scope of supply and recommend additional parts when needed.
- Connect engineering, purchasing, production, planning, and sales to align timelines and deliverables.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or closely related technical field.
- Additional certification in Quality Management or Project Management is beneficial.
- APQP4Wind Specialist certification is highly preferred.
- 08 - 10 years of experience in a similar field.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical gearbox design.
- Knowledge of drivetrain integration within wind turbines.
- Familiarity with key drivetrain components: Motors, Brakes, Sensors & Electrical & mechanical interfaces
- Skilled in APQP4Wind, PPAP, 8D, and root cause analysis.
- Experience coordinating supplier and customer quality activities.
