About the role

  • Development and design of steel structural components for modular systems, taking into account functional requirements, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Conceptualization of design tasks while adhering to modular system standards and interface specifications between systems
  • Meeting schedule and cost targets in the area of component design
  • Planning and support of associated tests in close coordination with the relevant specialist departments
  • Optimization and further development of existing designs
  • Close coordination with the Product Line department and other departments within the Technology & Development executive area, as well as with Production and Purchasing, to ensure optimal, production-ready component development
  • Preparation of complete technical documentation such as drawings and bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Independent and proactive management of projects within the scope of responsibility

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable qualification
  • Completed technical vocational training is an advantage
  • Strong design skills, ideally in the field of construction machinery
  • Familiarity with standards (Machinery Directive, DIN EN, FEM, ISO)
  • Excellent knowledge of 3D CAD software; experience with Creo Parametric and Creo Simulate is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications and PLM systems such as Windchill
  • Good written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus
  • Independent, flexible and solution-oriented working style
  • Excellent communication skills, reliability and ability to work across departmental boundaries
