About the role
- Development and design of steel structural components for modular systems, taking into account functional requirements, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness
- Conceptualization of design tasks while adhering to modular system standards and interface specifications between systems
- Meeting schedule and cost targets in the area of component design
- Planning and support of associated tests in close coordination with the relevant specialist departments
- Optimization and further development of existing designs
- Close coordination with the Product Line department and other departments within the Technology & Development executive area, as well as with Production and Purchasing, to ensure optimal, production-ready component development
- Preparation of complete technical documentation such as drawings and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Independent and proactive management of projects within the scope of responsibility
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable qualification
- Completed technical vocational training is an advantage
- Strong design skills, ideally in the field of construction machinery
- Familiarity with standards (Machinery Directive, DIN EN, FEM, ISO)
- Excellent knowledge of 3D CAD software; experience with Creo Parametric and Creo Simulate is an advantage
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications and PLM systems such as Windchill
- Good written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus
- Independent, flexible and solution-oriented working style
- Excellent communication skills, reliability and ability to work across departmental boundaries
