About the role

  • Acquisition, support and technical advising of existing and new customers and distribution partners across West Africa from the Lagos/Nigeria base
  • Conduct negotiations (including price and terms agreements) and close sales and rental contracts
  • Further develop and position the existing sales and service structure through excellent relationship management and by organizing marketing activities
  • Coordinate sales activities and continuously update forecasts together with distribution partners
  • Prepare quotations and handle tender processes
  • Ensure maximum transparency to Head Office by reporting on all relevant activities
  • Evaluate, assess and develop relevant markets and target customers
  • Identify market-specific needs and actively participate in aligning the product portfolio and channel strategies
  • Prepare analyses and reports (export and sales statistics, competitor comparisons, analyses, market studies, etc.)
  • Participate in international and local trade fairs and other events

Requirements

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field with at least 5 years of professional experience
  • Experience in selling B2B products
  • Fluent English and French (written and spoken) and very good knowledge of all MS Office applications. German and/or Portuguese skills are an advantage
  • Self-motivated, with a strong sense of responsibility and confident negotiating skills
  • Customer-oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Flexible and willing to travel within West Africa
  • Open, personable character with a convincing presence and intercultural competence
