About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead multiple online Supplemental Instruction sessions each week
- Create interactive activities for online sessions to engage students with course content
- Integrate course-specific study and learning strategies to maximize students’ academic progress
- Participate in mandatory SI Leader Orientation, training sessions, and scheduled meetings
- Complete SI-related administrative duties assigned by the Director of Online Tutoring Services
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current Residential undergraduate or graduate student
- “A” or “B” in the course you wish to tutor
- Cumulative LU GPA of at least 3.0
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with individuals from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds
- Enthusiasm for ministering to and helping students improve their knowledge of course content and effective study habits
- Excellent level of responsibility, reliability, punctuality, and organization
- Appropriate and professional behavior
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English
- Public communication skills allowing professional representation of Liberty University
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve routine and complex problems
