About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead multiple online Supplemental Instruction sessions each week
Create interactive activities for online sessions to engage students with course content
Integrate course-specific study and learning strategies to maximize students’ academic progress
Participate in mandatory SI Leader Orientation, training sessions, and scheduled meetings
Complete SI-related administrative duties assigned by the Director of Online Tutoring Services

Requirements

What you’ll need

Current Residential undergraduate or graduate student
“A” or “B” in the course you wish to tutor
Cumulative LU GPA of at least 3.0
Good communication and interpersonal skills with individuals from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds
Enthusiasm for ministering to and helping students improve their knowledge of course content and effective study habits
Excellent level of responsibility, reliability, punctuality, and organization
Appropriate and professional behavior
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to understand, speak, and write English
Public communication skills allowing professional representation of Liberty University
Strong organizational skills
Excellent computer skills
Ability to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve routine and complex problems
