About the role

  • Plan, initiate, coordinate, and execute traditional and agile information technology projects to meet customer requirements, including scope, schedule, and budget
  • Troubleshoot and report project risk and execution problems
  • Escalate to management appropriately and in timely fashion
  • Manage project performance indicators and recovery actions to meet SLA requirements
  • Coordinate project planned related customer, engineering staff, and external vendor activities
  • Ensures effective communication between all project stakeholders
  • Support the project and technology engineering staff as needed
  • Support the IS Accounts staff for project related vendor management
  • Author and submit project documentation and reports
  • Specialization with Service-Now ITSM toolset for project management
  • Learn existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services in use at Liberty University
  • Creatively resolve issues as they are identified
  • Participate in a mentoring program within assigned Departments as a Mentee, Mentor, or both as experience is gained
  • Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission

Requirements

  • 4 year college degree with a concentration in Information Services or Project Management
  • 1-2+ years’ related work experience
  • PMI Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM) certification required preferred
  • Effective communication both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills
  • Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required
