About the role
- Maintain and identify opportunities to increase community awareness of dental benefits and oral health through schools, advocacy organizations, and other community resource centers.
- Provide educational opportunities and resources to help community members access dental benefits.
- Maintain and develop relationships with community organizations, including school nurses and agencies serving various populations.
- Build and maintain relationships with local and state legislators.
- Collaborate with county service offices such as Public Health, Human Assistance, Homeless Services Authority, and Children & Family Services.
- Develop outreach initiatives targeting underserved populations in local communities.
- Coordinate and participate in community events to increase engagement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree (2-year) in Public Health Administration, Health Education, or Dental Assistant program.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in dental healthcare, dental office, or dental insurance environment.
- Bilingual with fluency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish.
- Knowledge and experience working with diverse communities.
- Familiarity with government structures, agencies, and policies impacting business and community programs.
- Experience with outreach to providers and members, government program managed care, or HEDIS measures preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of dental terminology preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience facilitating public meetings or forums.
- Exceptional organizational and planning abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance with minimum liability coverage of $100,000.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and two weekend days per month.
