About the role
- Work with individuals with developmental disabilities to improve independence and daily living skills.
- Assess clients' needs and conduct comprehensive evaluations of occupational performance.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and set measurable goals.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services in a variety of settings.
- Monitor and document clients’ progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Educate clients and families about therapeutic strategies and available resources.
- Provide support and training in self-care, social skills, and vocational skills.
- Participate in training and community outreach activities.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Must have valid driver’s license and car insurance.
- Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- 1-2 years of experience working as an Occupational Therapist (preferred).
- Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages) are a plus.
- Knowledge of adaptive technology and assistive devices.
- Experience with community-based services and resources.
