About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide front-line technical support for LGC laboratory instrumentation and consumables
  • Resolve technical equipment and software problems remotely and onsite at customer locations
  • Perform instrument installations, system start-up, integration support, commissioning, repairs, preventative maintenance, and production optimization
  • Deliver onsite operator and technical training to customers
  • Log and forward instrument issues and engineering design requests to the Field Service Advisor team
  • Shadow and assist senior Service Engineers during installations
  • Provide independent service support without direct oversight
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call emergency service support and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with the Field Service Manager, service team members, Field Service Engineers, Technical Advisor team, and Sales
  • Lead or collaborate on customer issue resolution, process improvements, corrective actions, and service case completion
  • Support new processes and instrument implementation in the field
  • Contribute to service-related KPIs including FRFT, customer satisfaction, TAT, MTTR, and onsite completion days
  • Support special projects and delegate tasks when appropriate
  • Address corporate initiatives and other business needs as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2-year degree in a mechanical, industrial, or electrical technical field, or equivalent amount of experience
  • Knowledge of basic engineering principles, theories, and techniques
  • 3 years’ experience in Field Service
  • Preferred: 3 years’ experience in Field Service in the Life Science or Ag-Bio Science field
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Clean criminal record due to travel visa qualification requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 75%, domestically and internationally
  • Availability for 24/7 on-call emergency service support
  • Ability to provide service support independently of direct oversight
  • Strong customer care and customer experience focus
  • Adaptability and willingness to change and flex work schedule as needed
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Ability to work closely with internal and external teams
  • Current U.S. work authorization
  • Must not require sponsorship for temporary visas, including H-1B, H-2B, OPT, O-1, and TN
