About the role
- Cover the business of law, specifically large law firms with national and international reach
- Write regular news analyses and features on the business of law
- Contextualize developments among law firms and other entities in the market
- Develop a deep understanding of the beat and a reliable roster of sources
- Regularly meet with legal industry sources in the local community
- Produce reporting that serves lawyers, in-house counsel, and regulators as part of Law360's journalism
Requirements
- Possess at least two years of full-time, paid reporting experience
- Demonstrated reporting and writing skills
- Experience working a beat
- Experience covering the legal industry, including law firms, legal associations and regulators, alternative legal service providers, in-house legal departments, legal technology, litigation funding and judicial issues (preferred)
- Experience reporting for a legal audience (preferred)
- Ability and openness to regularly meet with legal industry sources in the local community (preferred)
