About the role

  • Cover the business of law, specifically large law firms with national and international reach
  • Write regular news analyses and features on the business of law
  • Contextualize developments among law firms and other entities in the market
  • Develop a deep understanding of the beat and a reliable roster of sources
  • Regularly meet with legal industry sources in the local community
  • Produce reporting that serves lawyers, in-house counsel, and regulators as part of Law360's journalism

Requirements

  • Possess at least two years of full-time, paid reporting experience
  • Demonstrated reporting and writing skills
  • Experience working a beat
  • Experience covering the legal industry, including law firms, legal associations and regulators, alternative legal service providers, in-house legal departments, legal technology, litigation funding and judicial issues (preferred)
  • Experience reporting for a legal audience (preferred)
  • Ability and openness to regularly meet with legal industry sources in the local community (preferred)
