About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and provide direction to direct or indirect teams of Project Managers and Project Analysts
  • Project-manage cross-functional product development teams across Market Vertical, Product Management, Engineering, Testing, Legal, and other groups
  • Drive moderate to complex project portfolios to completion
  • Build development road maps and project schedules
  • Collaborate to resolve project issues
  • Manage multiple strategic projects with Engineering resources
  • Represent Engineering Project Management in cross-functional teams and serve as an SME for the portfolio
  • Oversee Project Managers managing moderate to complex projects
  • Foster innovation and encourage new ideas from staff
  • Empower staff to own their actions and decisions
  • Manage highly complex and moderate projects according to scope and complexity
  • Request and review resource allocation for projects, programs, and portfolios
  • Communicate capacity and demand impacts
  • Recommend improvements to processes and procedures
  • Manage all project phases through the Product Development process
  • Define performance parameters and create variance reports
  • Negotiate with Engineering Resource Managers for project resources
  • Maintain compliance with corporate and public regulations
  • Perform project-related data analysis
  • Interview, hire, train, assign, direct, appraise, reward, discipline, and support employees
  • Provide staff with training, resources, feedback, and coaching
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of IT PMO experience
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, finance, business, or equivalent experience required
  • Project governance certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, etc.) required
  • Superb relationship management skills
  • Strong knowledge of process improvement methodologies
  • Expert project management skills with a proven track record of successful on-time/within-budget deliveries
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Agile knowledge required
  • Exceptional negotiation skills
  • Advanced understanding of resource allocation
  • Experience coordinating team workflow in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience partnering with project stakeholders to resolve issues and mitigate project impacts
  • Strong project delivery, planning, resource management, risk management, and multitasking skills
  • Experience delivering projects of various sizes and durations
  • Adaptability to changing priorities
