About the role
- Performs occupational therapy professional services concerned with the evaluation and treatment of individuals to prevent, treat, and restore function following disease, trauma, psychological or social disability.
- Provides direct occupational therapy patient care upon referral by a physician or advanced practice provider using specific competencies.
- Evaluates patients using occupational therapy tests and measurements.
- Develops occupational therapy treatment plans and monitors progress.
- Administers occupational therapy treatments and documents appropriate patient treatment data.
- Instructs patients and their families in home program.
- Represents the department in meetings and assists in providing clinical supervision of rehab techs and students.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: Graduate of an occupational therapy educational program approved by the Accreditation on Council for Occupational Therapy Education or other American Occupational Therapy Association accrediting body for occupational therapy or other educational program which the board considers to be substantially equivalent.

- Substitutable Education & Experience: None
- Required Certifications/Licensure: Licensed as an Occupational Therapist by the South Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy; Certification in CPR.
