About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a visible safety leader and model Lewis’s Operating Principles
- Partner with Operations to drive continuous safety improvements
- Participate in morning huddles and deliver safety tailgates/safety moments to crews
- Conduct worksite observations to identify risks and assess regulatory and company compliance
- Provide safety policy, procedure, and regulatory guidance to Operations Leadership
- Train and coach employees on utility line-clearance tools, roping and rigging, collision avoidance, climbing techniques, aerial rescue, electrical safety, and First Aid/CPR
- Investigate and analyze incidents to facilitate organizational learning
- Prepare evaluations, summary reports, and recommendations for Operations and Safety Leadership
- Communicate safety program needs with regional leadership
- Provide timely and accurate reporting to Safety and Operations Regional Leadership
- Travel within Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and southern Pennsylvania for field oversight and governance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of High School diploma/GED with safety/industry-related credentials or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in line clearance or related industry
- Knowledge of OSHA and ANSI requirements
- OSHA 30 Hour or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Bilingual Spanish/English required
- Proficiency with computers, smartphones, and MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of vegetation management tools, practices, and procedures
- Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI, DOT, and tree industry regulations and standards
- Ability to travel 30–40% of the time, including overnight
- CTSP certification required within 1 year of hire
- Ability to perform field work, driving, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting
