About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee product safety and environmental impact across a complex portfolio.
- Implement product safety environmental management systems and ensure delivery to cost, schedule, and certification standards.
- Support Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and apply cutting-edge approaches including AI/ML, autonomy, multicore, model-based systems engineering, and Agile.
- Identify the Basis of Certification and support the development of conceptual designs.
- Assure that appropriate governance (internal and external), legal, and regulatory obligations are met through independent assessment of Product Safety.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrable and relevant experience analysing complex systems from a Product Safety and Product Environmental Impact Management perspective.
- Demonstrable experience using a range of safety tools and techniques.
- Experience of one or more certifications related to firmware and software products under BS EN 61508 standards.
- Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders for Product safety and/or Product security certification.
- Capability to identify and direct improvements to complex technical and business processes.
- Ideally Chartered Engineer status.
- Ideally a 2:1 or higher in a relevant engineering or science-based honours degree.
- Awareness of Information Security is desired, but not essential.
- Ideally working knowledge of current generation SRAM FPGAs and Firmware Design Methods, Tools and Languages.
