About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee product safety and environmental impact across a complex portfolio.
  • Implement product safety environmental management systems and ensure delivery to cost, schedule, and certification standards.
  • Support Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and apply cutting-edge approaches including AI/ML, autonomy, multicore, model-based systems engineering, and Agile.
  • Identify the Basis of Certification and support the development of conceptual designs.
  • Assure that appropriate governance (internal and external), legal, and regulatory obligations are met through independent assessment of Product Safety.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrable and relevant experience analysing complex systems from a Product Safety and Product Environmental Impact Management perspective.
  • Demonstrable experience using a range of safety tools and techniques.
  • Experience of one or more certifications related to firmware and software products under BS EN 61508 standards.
  • Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders for Product safety and/or Product security certification.
  • Capability to identify and direct improvements to complex technical and business processes.
  • Ideally Chartered Engineer status.
  • Ideally a 2:1 or higher in a relevant engineering or science-based honours degree.
  • Awareness of Information Security is desired, but not essential.
  • Ideally working knowledge of current generation SRAM FPGAs and Firmware Design Methods, Tools and Languages.
