About the role

  • Enhance the Tempest project’s DevOps capability, especially in the areas of automated test, automated deployment to hardware, and acceleration of software releases
  • Work in or alongside the central DevOps team to identify enhancements to the pipelines required by the software engineering team
  • Develop and maintain our DevOps tooling, making it robust and enhancing the developer experience
  • Support troubleshooting, and provide guidance on secure CI/CD practices across the team
  • Help to administer and integrate core tooling and infrastructure, including build systems, artifact repositories, and security scanning tools, while managing server resources and ensuring compliance with security standards
  • Support rigorous qualification of the tooling and infrastructure to enable its use with projects adhering to the DO-178C software development standard

Requirements

  • Programming/Scripting (e.g. C++, Python, JavaScript)
  • CI/CD pipeline design and administration (Jenkins, Gitlab)
  • CI/CD application and server administration
  • Automation, monitoring and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
  • Writing clear technical documentation, guides and specifications
  • Containerisation technologies (Docker, Podman)
  • Strong problem-solving and engineering mindset
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of the DO-178C software development standard and associated DO-330 Tool Qualification guidelines
  • Effective communication and teamwork
  • Curiosity, creativity and a drive for continuous improvement.
