About the role
- Enhance the Tempest project’s DevOps capability, especially in the areas of automated test, automated deployment to hardware, and acceleration of software releases
- Work in or alongside the central DevOps team to identify enhancements to the pipelines required by the software engineering team
- Develop and maintain our DevOps tooling, making it robust and enhancing the developer experience
- Support troubleshooting, and provide guidance on secure CI/CD practices across the team
- Help to administer and integrate core tooling and infrastructure, including build systems, artifact repositories, and security scanning tools, while managing server resources and ensuring compliance with security standards
- Support rigorous qualification of the tooling and infrastructure to enable its use with projects adhering to the DO-178C software development standard
Requirements
- Programming/Scripting (e.g. C++, Python, JavaScript)
- CI/CD pipeline design and administration (Jenkins, Gitlab)
- CI/CD application and server administration
- Automation, monitoring and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
- Writing clear technical documentation, guides and specifications
- Containerisation technologies (Docker, Podman)
- Strong problem-solving and engineering mindset
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle
- Knowledge of the DO-178C software development standard and associated DO-330 Tool Qualification guidelines
- Effective communication and teamwork
- Curiosity, creativity and a drive for continuous improvement.
