About the role

  • Supervise a team of electrical engineering managers and individual contributor engineers on a wide range of electrical engineering designs
  • Manage budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
  • Drive Design for Cost, Manufacturability, Maintainability (DfX) aspects into department designs
  • Perform succession planning and skills gap analysis; mentor and provide technical guidance to subordinates
  • Identify and oversee value-added process improvement efforts for engineering
  • Communicate clearly with company personnel and customers; build interpersonal relationships and foster employee satisfaction
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend organization mission, values and culture; foster change management
  • Attend appropriate in-person or remote engineering, customer or business meetings
  • Participate/lead technical engineering preparation of proposals
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, program managers, and supply chain

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience leading/managing a team of individual contributors
  • Minimum of 8 years electrical engineering design, development, and test experience
  • Technical expertise in Hardware, Power Engineering, Power Electronic Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering, Integrated Circuit Engineering
  • Firmware experience
  • Experience with MS Project scheduling
  • Experience with Agile development programs (plus)
  • Experience leading change and change management
  • Ability to supervise a technical group independently and effectively
  • Manage budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Active DOD security clearance required or ability to obtain one within a reasonable time
