About the role
- Assist in the execution and delivery of our supplier quality strategy
- Provide oversight of suppliers, ensuring regulatory requirements
- Execute proactive and reactive actions aimed at improving the quality of products and services
- Assist with supplier quality system/process development and support product and supplier quality improvements
- Develop, maintain and deploy supplier quality plans and activities
- Gather, organize, monitor, analyze and report information on suppliers, products, and processes
- Provide ongoing supplier quality system support including performing internal audits
- Participate on product quality improvement teams, Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards
- Evaluate and dispose of non-conforming material during receiving inspection
- Provide technical support for Assembly/Test/Inspection personnel
- Assist in resolving customer and supplier quality issues
- Initiate and drive root cause and corrective action on process and product quality issues
- Assist in deploying Statistical Process Control (SPC) initiatives
- Participate in supplier selection and improvement processes
- Assist with on-site audits, evaluating prototypes, and reviewing and approving supplier corrective actions
- Communicate clearly with other company personnel and the customer
- Prepare supplier quality engineering reports and recommendations
- Provide regular reporting of progress and status
- Completion of assigned tasks on time and meeting technical requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience
- Novice technical expertise and application domain knowledge
- Basic knowledge of ISO Standards, Six Sigma tools, statistics
- ASQ certification preferred
- Knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality requirements
- Ability to understand military specifications and to read blueprints
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication and writing skills
- Ability to define problems and drive to root cause and effective corrective action
