About the role

  • Support projects for the development and support of mechanical equipment, especially heat exchangers, air conditioning, refrigeration, and air handling systems
  • Support development of manufacturing drawings, bills of material and associated supporting documentation for fabrication and delivery of products and prototypes
  • Evaluate and recommend design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products or services. Investigate solutions to product or process problems.
  • Development of technical documentation, manuals, and procedures
  • Provide budget, cost and schedule input for status of project assignments
  • Engineering of HVAC&R equipment for component sizing, selection, and performance predictions. May include Mechanical Analysis, Aerodynamics/Fluids, Thermal, Fluid Systems, Mechanical Packaging, or others.
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services
  • Review customer specifications and requirements in support of bids and proposals and develop compliant designs for product development
  • Support testing, qualification, documentation and analysis of prototypes, products, systems or subsystems
  • Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
  • Work with manufacturing and cross functional teams to achieve project cost and manufacturing efficiency goals
  • Responsible for completion of projects on time, within budget and following design specifications
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and customers
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing results in a cooperative and supportive manner
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer, or business meetings
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge by conferring with technical specialists and suppliers; attending educational workshops; and reviewing professional publications
  • Ability to work independently under supervision of others while regular reporting of progress and status

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field
  • Comfortable and competent writing and creating technical documentation
  • Competent using MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint)
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
