About the role
- design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems
- determine processes to best test a product to assure compliance with requirements and specifications
- lead design and development of test programs to measure functionality and integrity of products
- write test plans and procedures to evaluate ability of products to meet performance standards
- troubleshoot test hardware and software
- design and setup instrumentation for measuring test parameters
- analyze measurement data to verify performance criteria
- provide budget, cost and schedule inputs for assignments and proposals
- arrange scheduling and costs for offsite testing of hardware
- responsible for completion of activities on time and budget
- provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
- possibly use computer-aided engineering or other software for design
Requirements
- B.S. degree in engineering or equivalent
- minimum of 5 years of test engineering experience
- understanding and ability to design and perform product environmental testing based on MIL STD 810G or MIL STD 461E
- systems hardware & software testing experience
- experience with precision test, measurement devices, and sensor selection
- excellent analytical and communication skills, written and verbal
- detail-oriented, organized, and able to work well in a team environment as well as independently
- proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products
