About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee all construction activities from inception to move-in across assigned communities
  • Manage job sites, scheduling, and trade partners to ensure adherence to project timelines and scopes of work
  • Conduct twice-daily home walks to monitor progress, quality standards, schedule compliance, and profitability
  • Supervise pre-construction, pre-drywall, inspection, and final presentation or walkthrough meetings
  • Negotiate cost-effective solutions with inspectors and trade partners while identifying efficiencies and best practices for Continuous Improvement Processes
  • Manage daily trade partner communications and invoice approvals through Build Pro
  • Provide trade partner performance feedback to the Lead Construction Manager
  • Ensure job site cleanliness, safety, and compliance with State and Federal building codes
  • Maintain safety logs, conduct on-site safety meetings, and address regulatory concerns
  • Perform Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan inspections as required
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Approve change orders, purchase orders, and safety logs
  • Collaborate with sales, customer care, and management on communication and problem resolution

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
  • 3–5 years’ experience in home building/construction, as an alternative to the education requirement
  • Experience in residential construction management required
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Build Pro, Procore, and other construction management software
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Valid auto insurance coverage
  • Knowledge of construction practices and building codes
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Regular in-person attendance at company communities/job sites and offices
  • Ability to work more than eight hours per day in a construction trailer
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move, and/or carry equipment in excess of 50 pounds
  • May occasionally need to operate construction equipment
  • Finger dexterity may be required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
